Hi! My name is Thomas and I was born on an Indian reservation in Oklahoma during the  last years of what is called the Baby boomer generation. Although I love all of my brothers and sisters nowadays, back then it seems that we fought and argued a lot - at least until I was about 14 years old. That’s my life changed in a big way for the better. As a child, my life was not so wonderful. My mother had 6 children and when I was 7, my dad decided that he didn’t want to be a dad any more. Yea, we were poor, so poor that I sometimes had to eat peanut butter for dinner and didn’t see my mom nearly as much as I would have like to. She seemed always to be working or driving my other brothers and sisters to gymnastics practice. Nevertheless, she was and awesome mom. At the age of 14, I somehow got me into a private high school and that’s when my life began to change for the better. The Chinese New Year festival is almost here and in this blog, I want to tell you about my vacation plans. Firstly, I’m going to visit Dong Pu hot springs. I am going to see My friend there. While I’m there, I will eat and swim in the hot spring. I am very excited about going to Dong Pu because I want to see my friend. Taiwan has many fun festivals throughout the year. For example, in Springtime, you can visit the the Chinese New Year festival in any city or town. I like the New Year festival best  because everybody is so friendly. There is a lot of food to eat and everybody is happy. Additionally, you can play mahjong all day and all night. In summer time, if you’re lucky enough to be in Taiwan, remember to visit the Ho-Hai-Yan  music  Festival in Gongliao. I really like this festival because it's free and it's on the beach. Many people like to sing and dance on the beach. Finally , during the wintertime, when the temperature is cooler, you can join in the fun at the Dragon boat festival in any big city.  This festival is so cool because people can compete in boat races on rivers and lakes. It is very exciting to watch the races and there is always a lot of food to eat. In conclusion, I think these are three fun festivals that you don’t want to miss.
